GU6ix Values

I am guided by a set of core values that shape my coaching practice and defines my commitment to you.

#01

TRUSTED RELATIONSHIPS

I put in the groundwork to build mutual trust through frequent communication and listening to what clients have to say. This is far more more important than me doing all the talking. I prioritise client's interests  and have a genuine interest in all of my clients lives.

#03

COMPETENCE

To maximise the quality of my coaching, I invest in continuing education, and learning and development of coaching competencies. I do not profess to know everything and out of self-respect and respect for my clients, I will not operate outside of the boundaries of my competence.

#05

EVIDENCE BASED

The coaching approaches and tools I adopt, and any resources I may provide, are grounded in scientific research, along with learning from my own and others' experiences. Adopting evidence-based coaching provides clients with the tools for significant and sustainable change.

#02

APPRECIATE INDIVIDUALITY

Every person is different, with their own goals, aspirations, strengths and challenges. By appreciating individuality, I tailor my approach to suit the needs and preferences of each client. This allows for a personalised coaching experience, increasing the likelihood of achieving meaningful and sustainable results.

#04

ACT WITH INTEGRITY

An important part of what I do, whether as part of coaching or consultancy work, is to add value and if I feel that my work will not deliver this to you or your business then I can refer you elsewhere. I will not enter into a financial exchange unless I believe I can help you achieve your goals.

#06

CARE AND RESPECT

I care about my clients success and relish seeing individuals move from a place of challenge to a more positive place. I always strive to do business in a way in which I'd like business to be done with me. I may not always get this right (I am human after all) and I respect your feedback on such matters.

Your questions, answered

The questions below are those I get asked the most. If you can't see the answer you're looking for, please reach out.

What is coaching?

In essence, coaching is a confidential, one-on-one conversation with a trusted partner. It helps individuals identify who they are, identify what's important to them, and clarify what needs to change to achieve their goals. Rather than offering solutions, a coach facilitates a conversation that expands awareness, helping the client see challenges from different perspectives. Through these conversations, individuals gain clarity and are able to discover their own path to personal growth and change.

Is coaching the same as mentoring?

No! I am not a mentor as I will not be offering advice, solutions or sharing my own experiences of being a HF professional. Coaching requires the coachee to think for oneself and make changes as a result of such thinking. My role is to provide an environment and coaching process that enables such thinking to take place, both in and outside of coaching sessions. If mentoring is what you want, take a look at the CIEHF website for further details.

How is coaching different from counselling / therapy?

Coaching is different from therapy or counselling as it primarily focuses on the present and future rather then delving into past traumas or psychological issues. While coaching may address certain psychological aspects, its emphasis is on personal growth, goal attainment and creating positive change in specific areas of life and work.

Who do you work with?

I love working with HF professionals who are looking to make positive change in their life. I am also happy to work with non HF professionals. I have helped clients secure new positions, transition confidently into new leadership roles, determine the future direction for a small business owner and helped clients regain confidence in their abilities. It is my privilege and pleasure to help clients achieve these positive changes.

How do I know if you're the right coach for me?

By booking a free Compatibility Call. Working with a coach can feel like a big step - after all, it is an investment in yourself. The Compatibility Call is an opportunity for me to ask some searching questions about your goals and intentions. I expect that you will probe me too to ensure that the way I work accommodates your requirements. Or perhaps you'd just like an informal chat to get to know me better. You can request a virtual coffee and chat. Simply head to the CONTACT page and fill out the form.

Do you provide coaching face to face or online?

I provide coaching services primarily online. Many clients prefer this method. With each session lasting 1 - 1.5 hours, it is more convenient to schedule online sessions around the working day. I can coach face to face, although this would incur additional costs and travel expenses.

How can I get the most out of coaching?

To maximise the benefits of coaching, I ask that you are open, honest, ready to do some thinking and willing to self-reflect. Consistency and commitment - from both of us - are key to achieving meaningful results through coaching.

What qualifications do you have?

I have an Undergraduate and Masters degree in Psychology & Occupational Psychology, respectively. I trained with Barefoot Coaching, accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and am working towards ACC status. I am a member of the ICF, an Associate Member with the CIEHF, and a Certified Business Psychologist with the Association of Business Psychology (ABP). All have a Code of Conduct/Ethics, which I operate within.
